the Monday morning blues

The weather in LA has not quite committed to Spring yet...it starts off cold in the morning and gets sunny/warm later in the day. So, in addition to the outfit, I have added a couple of "necessities" to brave the cold in the morning and to enjoy the heat in the afternoon (have you ever tried the "real caramel, caramel frappuccino" from Starbucks? The barista blends in caramel sauce instead of the syrup...heavenly. I used to work there and made one for myself every shift).

It was very hard to get motivated to go to work today. I am sullen because my weekend is over and thus, today I wear black. Below is a replica of the outfit I am wearing today.

the Monday morning blues - Ciclavia edition!

This past weekend was the fourth annual Ciclavia event in Los Angeles. They expanded the course 13 miles stretching from Downtown LA to Venice Beach! I joined my friend Kelsi (from here and here) and her sister to take in the LA scenery. We got a good workout in the process - an added bonus. My Monday morning blues are an ode to a Sunday full of bicycling, LA nostalgia (I love it when people come together to enjoy an event...it makes me emotional) and LA pride!

p.s. Foodie spots in downtown LA: Bottega Louie (best macarons every...my favorite are the rose and earl grey), the Nickel Diner (delicious donuts & tofu scramble), Mr. Churro (stuffed churros...need I say more? My favorites are the hot caramel and the cheesecake).

We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Megan took an impromptu day trip to Solvang (pics to come later this week) and Sydney, attended a wedding. A wonderful weekend for both of us indeed...so now, we definitely have a case of the Monday morning blues.

the Monday morning blues

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday/weekend! 

It is hard to start the week after a fun, relaxing holiday. I don't have work today but since it is raining "out at the farm", I am trying to resist just staying indoors bundled up in a blanket drinking tea. Today's Monday morning blues post (and the Monday posts for the month of April) will showcase this blue scarf as April showers definitely call for the use of scarfs and rainboots (especially as I tend to my goats, chickens and ducks).
